Sometimes we want to be healthier or know we need to make a change, but have no clue where to begin. We have five simple steps that you can start today, tomorrow or even in the next five minutes that will have you on your way to being a healthier and happier you.

1. Drink More Water

It’s easy to get busy with millions of little things that control our day. Although we know that we should drink water, it’s often the last thing on our minds. We stepped up our water game and bought a fruit infuser water bottle. Now we don’t HAVE to drink water, we WANT to drink water! As if fruit flavored water isn’t enticing enough, drinking water curbs hunger, fights off fatigue, and helps avoid headaches

We can’t tell you how many times this quote has rang true for us. What if you imagined you were going to have a great day? Or believed you could do something you’ve never done. We’ve been practicing positive vibes and attracting positivity in return. It’s pretty crazy how much your attitude influences your day. Take a minute to take a deep breath and think about what you want to become and the kind of life you want to create. Channel some positive energy, you’ll be surprised what you receive in return.

3. Eat Healthy Foods:

Choose foods that contains minimal amounts of unhealthy fats, low sugar and organic ingredients. Minimize your consumption of sweets, but instead choose whole fruits, freshly-squeezed juices, and whole grain bread instead. The trick to weight loss and staying fit is knowing that calories burnt should exceed calories taken in. It is important not to starve yourself because you quickly pile up the pounds when you feed that ravenous hunger at a go. Instead, eat little portions of healthy foods 5-6 times a day.

4. Sleep More
When was the last time you made sleep a priority? No judgment here, we struggle in this department too. It’s amazing how a little more sleep can change your entire perspective. We encourage you to set a bedtime and stick to it, even if it’s just one night – give it a try! Take a bath to unwind or drink some sleepy time tea. Crawl into bed with a good book and use the do not disturb feature on your smartphone (it’s the little moon button and yes your alarm will still go off in the morning). Even a little extra sleep can give you the motivation to work out the next day, make healthier choices at the cafeteria and maybe even smile at your boss.

5. The health benefits to yoga are endless.

Yoga improves flexibility, increases blood flow, builds muscle strength, improves balance and helps you relax just to name a few. It’s easy to feel like you aren’t getting a true workout when engaging in yoga but this couldn’t be further from the truth. Leave the weights behind the next time you go to the gym and sign up for a yoga class instead. Stretch out your body and free your mind. Remember, what you think you become. Use this as a mantra and repeat this to yourself as you’re on your mat thinking you can’t hold a position much longer or your mind starts to wander. The results you get will surprise you
